This is a solo effort by Dave McPherson, a side project from his band InMe, a melodic rock band from Essex, but this is more of an acoustic singer songwriter style album.

The album is separated into 4 sections, Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter, 3 songs for each season. There is no explanation as to why, it seems not to have any connection to the songs, and I could not see the point in this at all.

Spring consists of the gentle Hearts Need Blood, the melancholy Is This All We Are with its intricate finger picking guitar and Listen to The Music. Summer is possibly my favourite sector, She Puts Me in a Good Mood, Before I Even Had You & Love Rats. Autumn is made up of A Ghostly Reprise, Hummingbird, which got on my nerves & Last Year. While Winter comprises Hibernation, Obsession Is A Young Mans Game & This is No Fairytale.

There is no doubt this is quality, its not an unpleasant experience to listen to, is tranquil and relaxing but it is also instantly forgettable. All the songs seem the same, one paced, with nothing to make them stand out or different, it becomes hard to distinguish one song from another. The overall effect is disappointing, it’s not something people will hate, it just won’t ignite any passion.
