Mike Portnoy is certainly a busy boy; he was defiantly the kid that fidgeted in class not able to stay quiet for a second. His third band in less than three years sees him collaborating with Russell Allen, Mike Orlando with Paul DiLeo on Bass and Fozzy axe grinder Rich Ward.  A five song E.P this is certainly very different to anything he’s done before, Allen’s vocals are powerful and are true Rock/Metal pipes spouting some vocals Coverdale wishes he could remember. The songs are pure Hard Rock with more emphasis on the Hard, the guitar solos are ripping up the fret board and will have grown men throwing shapes around their living rooms. ‘Believe Me’, ‘Down to The Floor’ and an excellent cover of Dio era Black Sabbaths ‘Mob Rules’ are delivered with a driving passion and force with an emphasis on just playing good old Hard Rock / Metal. Adrenaline Mob is just foot down rock from the get go and doesn’t pretend to be anything else, excellent effort let’s hope it continues to develop further into a strong stable band.

8/10
