A young bunch of modern rockers from Leicester, Black Page Turns have a couple of two track releases to their name of which “Nail In The Coffin” is the latest.
The band cite influences that include Terrorvision, The Wildhearts and Foo Fighters and their style is largely one of buzz-saw riffs and melodic hooks delivered with a lighter vocal but yet retaining a raw edge. Oddly enough it is not the lead track but “Stand Up For The Little Guy” that proves to be the stronger song here with some intelligent use of tempo changes and solid rhythms that does enough to suggest they can write a decent tune. It is early days yet for Black Page Turns and a lengthy spell of gigging will help further shape the material and define their own sound.
