PRIMAL ROCK REBELLION have their debut single, ‘No Place Like Home’, now on release through the Spinefarm label.
The single is released as a strictly Limited Edition black 10” vinyl exclusive from What Records, and as a digital download. Both formats feature the brand new studio recording ‘Bright As A Fire’.
The video for ‘No Place Like Home’ was co-directed by Mikee & Meats Meier, a renowned CGI artist based in Los Angeles who provided the illustrations for both the single & album artwork…
“Basically, ‘No Place Like Home’ is a song about escapism,” explains Mikee. “As you can see from the video, the verses are about someone going into a city, and all they see is darkness, negativity & despair. It’s about feeling really claustrophobic and wanting to go somewhere else – somewhere magical, somewhere that probably doesn’t exist. I think a lot of people have that in their lives, at certain stages. So it’s saying, ‘There’s no place like home – but it ain’t here!’
‘No Place Like Home’ & ‘Bright As A Fire’ feature on the forthcoming Primal Rock Rebellion album, ‘Awoken Broken’ – an 11-track outing produced by Adrian & Mikee, and due out on February 27th, also via Spinefarm.
In addition to a digital download the album ‘Awoken Broken’ is released in two Limited Edition formats – a Deluxe Digi CD and a double Marbled Purple & Red vinyl in gatefold sleeve.
A free download track of the album track, ‘I See Lights’, can be found on www.primalrockrebellion.com as well as a link to the video for ‘No Place Like Home’.

NO AMERICANA are to release their long-awaited video for “Wax Poetic”, kicking off what looks set to be a very busy year for the band. The “Wax Poetic” video sees NO AMERICANA stepping up to the mark in the wintry waters of Bolton. Shot by director Ben Thornley (Fightstar, Young Guns) and his team in a storage facility in a grim business park in random Bolton, a huge construction of Perspex sheets, which were suspended above and around the band, was assembled ready to rain icy cold water on the band below - resulting in drummer Dan Taylor contracting meningitis. Commenting on his rock'n'roll induced illness Dan went onto say: "The start of 2012 has seen me sent to hell and back, but seeing how the wax poetic music video has turned out I would say the Meningitis was well worth it." Frontman David James Foster expressed the bands excitement to be involved with such a bold but cold project for a first video saying: “I can't believe how it looks, Ben and the team have done a fantastic job in constructing such a set. Can’t believe this will be our debut video.”
On the videos concept, David continues: “As such an up-tempo but emotive track, lyrically it has a lot of metaphoric references to water, and now Ben has helped us to bring it to life.” The band have also announced a couple of shows. Catch NO AMERICANA at: 24th Feb @ Fern & Fallow, Cannock 25th Feb @ Eddies, Birmingham

To coincide with a full UK tour with The Answer, (with opening act being Midlander's, SKAM) The Union return with double a sided single on 12th March 2012. The single will include the tracks “ Make Up Your Mind” (2012 revised radio version), “ Obsession” (radio edit) and live tracks “ Cut The Line” and “ Obsession”. The singles are taken from The Union’s acclaimed second album “ Siren’s Song”. Formed by guitarist Luke Morley and ex Winterville vocalist/guitarist Peter Shoulder, The Union produce a very modern take on classic styles. Merging modern and classic rock, blues and country, the bands impeccable songwriting is pulled together by the uniquely powerful and emotive vocals of Peter Shoulder - one of only three British artists (the other two being Eric Clapton and Peter Green) to win a W.C. Handy Blues Foundation award, presented in Memphis in 2006 for co-writing the American Blues Song of the year 2006 “Siren’s Song” picks up where “The Union” left off. From the gospel hints of opening track “Siren’s Song” to the driving blues riffs of “The Remedy”, from jazz piano of ballad “If I Could Make You Mine” to the truly infectious melodies of the rolling “Obsession”, “Siren’s Song” features impeccable songwriting and stunning musicianship that flies the flag for British rock. The album was recorded at Rockfield Studios, Monmouth, Wales, the oldest residential studios in the world (Queen, Oasis), and was produced by Luke Morley and Peter Shoulder and mixed by Nick Brine (currently producing The Darkness' comeback album). The Union will be embarking on a tour with The Answer in March 2012

“a frantic ambush of riffage-intelligent rhythms abound” TOTAL GUITAR “simmers with the riotous rush of At The Drive In….they’re pushing hard and it’s got to pay off” ART ROCKER “songs to fall in love with you could fight, f*ck or dance to” KERRANG! “visceral and vital sounding punk-drenched alternative rock tunes that drip youthful exuberance and showcase huge potential” ROCK SOUND "Their songs - like their performance - are storming, full of attitude and yet as catchy as fuck without pandering to pop sensibilities" MIDLANDS ROCKS Fusing classic punk attitude, an astute sensibility to a ballsy riff, a very British narrative and infectious hook-fuelled chant, Midlands’ quartet Max Raptor continue their swift ascent to rock n’ roll eminence with new single ‘Carolina’, taken from the critically acclaimed debut mini-album ‘Portraits’. Heralded for their forthright sketches of modern society, the gritty omniscience of new single Carolina is the perfect calling card for one of the most original up-and-coming alt-rock bands of our time. This dismal yet somehow charming portrayal of the British ultimate dysfunctional family could not be more apt amidst headlines of austerity with the tender wounds of a riotous summer still healing. Carolina is a 21st century punk anthem sparked by the imperfections of human nature; an alcoholic, abusive father, bitter and aggressively defensive of failure; a fragile yet desperately narcissistic mother who longs to be noticed; an older sister who knows nothing other than to use her sexuality as her escape; and a younger brother, coarsely wrought by all of the above, unemployed, hopeless and destined to become his own father. The inimitable sound of Max Raptor transcends genre and generation. In 2011, the band were invited to support The Stranglers, New Model Army and The Darkness as well as a hectic festival circuit including Hevy with Dillinger Escape Plan, Y Not with Maximo Park, Play Fest with Frank Turner, Leopallooza with The Datsuns and Boardmasters with The King Blues and Skindred, topped off by performing on the Kerrang! Breakthru tour in December. Max Raptor’s music has thus far garnered media support from BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, BBC Introducing, XFM, Kerrang TV, Scuzz and NME TV, not least high praise from Rock Sound, Kerrang! magazine, Front magazine and Total Guitar. At Christmas, Max Raptor even performed a live concert streamed over the internet from a super fan’s bedroom (in Wandsworth) to an unanticipated audience of thousands. Catch Max Raptor now before they are selling out stadiums instead of bedrooms. The new single CAROLINA is available to download from 27th Feb 2012 and the PORTRAITS mini-album is out now on Naim Edge Records. ‘CAROLINA’ UK TOUR , co-headline with HILDAMAY 23rd Feb EXETER Cavern Club 24th Feb TRURO Bunters 25th Feb LLANELLI The Kazbar 26th Feb BRISTOL Academy 2 27th Feb GUILDFORD Boiler Room 29th Feb YORK Stereo 1st Mar WREXHAM Central Station 2nd Mar COVENTRY Kasbah 3rd Mar NOTTINGHAM Rock City 4th Mar SHEFFIELD Academy 2 6th Mar BATH Komedia 7th Mar NEWCASTLE Academy 2 8th Mar GLASGOW Stereo 10th Mar NORTHAMPTON Penny Whistle 11th Mar BIRMINGHAM Academy 3 12th Mar CARDIFF Clwb Ifor Bach 13th Mar SOUTHEND Chinnery's 15th Mar DERBY The Venue 16th Mar SWANSEA Sin City 17th Mar SHEERNESS The Ivy 18th Mar SOUTHAMPTON Take Down 2012 19th Mar CAMBRIDGE Portland Arms 21st Mar LIVERPOOL Academy 2 22nd Mar LONDON Barfly www. seetickets.com / http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/ |

Metal titans ICED EARTH and thrash icons SEPULTURA are the latest additions to BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR 2012, joining an already stellar line up that includes headline sets from ALICE COOPER and BEHEMOTH, as well as exclusive appearances from WATAIN, special guests DIMMU BORGIR, HATEBREED, BLACK DAHLIA MURDER & many more.
ICED EARTH were born in 1985, formed by Jon Schaffer – a determined, street-tough kid with the drive to create a band to make his heroes Judas Priest, KISS, and Iron Maiden proud. The band released its riff-heavy self-titled debut album in 1990 and never looked back. Nine studio albums – considered masterpieces of metal – cemented the band’s reputation for crafting exceptionally well-made music, the centerpiece of which being Schaffer’s trademark rhythm guitar style and powerful, in-your-face lyrics that often combine themes of self reliance, a healthy distrust of authority, history, and science fiction. He says:
"We are looking forward to returning to Bloodstock in 2012, our second time after 2008. The UK shows we played on our World Dystopia Tour last fall were some of the best on the tour and we cannot wait to bang our heads with the UK minions again!"
Over the years, Schaffer has surrounded himself with some of the finest musicians in the world – including famed vocalists Matt Barlow, Tim Owens, and now Stu Block – to help bring his musical visions to life. This summer Schaffer brings this vision to BLOODSTOCK once more, for their only UK show of 2012, and one of the highlights of the metal festival calendar.
SEPULTURA is one of the major names in metal history. From their humble beginnings 27 years ago, these Brazilians went on to create a legacy, influencing a whole generation of younger bands and becoming a true institution. Despite rough times due to significant line-up changes, nomadic relationships with record labels and various changes in the overall musical environment, SEPULTURA have never backed down, continuously following their path, always re-emerging stronger than ever before.
At their only UK show of 2012, SEPULTURA will remind the BLOODSTOCK crowd why they are South America’s biggest metal export, with a classic set featuring timeless anthems such as “Arise”, “Beneath The Remains”, “Troops Of Doom” “Refuse/Resist”, “Territory” and many many more.
With tickets selling faster than ever before, BLOODSTOCK 2012 is destined for a sell-out this year. Over 100 bands - the majority of which are exclusive appearances - and a ticket price of only £115 for four days of metal magic INCLUDING camping - BLOODSTOCK offers metalheads the most attractive ticket in the UK. Not content with having headliners The Prodigy, Metallica and Black Sabbath on the Download 2012 poster, DOWNLOAD have gone and added a further 14 bands to our 10th anniversary line-up.
The mighty ‘Riff Lord’ himself Slash will return with his solo project featuring Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy. As well as that, legendary LA thrash metal band Megadeth, whose last appearance at Donington pulled in huge crowds, also join the decade celebrations.
Other new additions include melodic hardcore punk group Rise Against, wild LA glam rockers Steel Panther, ferocious punk four-piece Billy Talent and US heavy metallers Black Label Society.
Kyuss Lives!, the incarnation of the influential stoner rock band Kyuss, will unleash their desert rock fury on Donington, joined by Five Finger Death Punch, industrial metal four-piece Fear Factory and prog-metallers Periphery.
Yorkshire rockers Terrorvision are also confirmed, joined by British rocker Ginger Wildheart, Grammy-nominated metalcore group As I Lay Dying and Finnish glam metal group Reckless Love for the biggest weekend in the rock calendar.
Now is the time to get VERY freakin’ excited. Roll on June!!
