Are you ready for a Ghoulish Invasion?? The inaugural Midlands Goth Festival hits Birmingham this month with a whole day of events at The Birmingham Ballroom on the 18th Feb.

Kicking off the day there will be all manner of stalls, workshops and even a cinema where you can chill out to some chillers!! Also there will be Gothic Carnival Games and an exhibition of the Weird and Wonderful plus a chance to meet the team behind Dark Hearts Events.

The idea of a Midlands based Goth Fest similar to it’s more famous Whitby counterpart was nurtured in the dark recesses of the mind of Craig Gilman and when he started talking about this idea on Facebook the seeds were sown; interest grew exponentially and soon the flourishing Goth scene in the Midlands got firmly behind the idea, giving Craig and his cohorts at Dark Hearts the confidence to fully commit to the project.

The result is a full day of events that will see live bands in the evening followed by the fiendishly entertaining  Vince Ripper and the Rodent show before finishing off the festival with sets from some of the country’s top underground DJ’s playing tunes through till dawn.

A spokesman for Dark Hearts commented on the reasons behind choosing Birmingham as the location for this event  “The festival isn't just for those who live on a "dark side", but a gathering for "everyone" to look and experience something more than there preconceptions and enjoy themselves in sight, sound and mind.  Birmingham is well known for embracing its multicultural and diverse community, so, along with it's central location, was possibly the best choice to hold our first major event.”

Tickets are available now through the Ballroombox office or you can pick them up from members of the Dark Hearts team at the next Zombie Club on the 11th Feb priced £15 advance (£20 on the door). It’s also going to be a family friendly event with all ages welcome (under 14’s must be accompanied by an adult)
