Hello fellow headbangers!

I am Sarah Payman-Shaw, but go by the name of “Kotelo Images” for my photography (“Kotelo” being the Finnish word for pupa/chrysalis).

I have had a passion for both Photography and Heavy Metal for as long as I can remember, but only seriously began considering live music capture as a career choice four or so years ago, when I was lucky enough to acquire my first Canon DSLR. I now know that this is what I want to be doing for the rest of my life.

It has been somewhat of an uphill struggle applying for photo passes without the backing of a publication, so I was incredibly grateful to be accepted into the Midlands Rocks team!

As far as my music taste goes, I particularly enjoy bands from the NWOBHM, Power Metal, Melodic Death Metal, Folk Metal, Hair Metal, Progressive Metal, Symphonic Metal, Classic Metal, Classic Rock, Black Metal and Thrash Metal genres.

My favourite band of all time is without a doubt, Iron Maiden, and the ultimate dream for me would be to have access to their photo pit and get VERY trigger happy!
